Indlulamithi, the Giraffe, is derived from my isiZulu nickname. At 6'4" I have always stood a little taller than most, which naturally gives a different view of the world. The giraffe’s elevated perspective reflects how I approach engineering — stepping back to see the whole system, not just the parts.
A View Above: is the philosophy I bring to both life and work. It means taking a broader view of people, projects and outcomes, allowing for practical, human-centred solutions while maintaining sound engineering judgement. It is this perspective that supports collaborative working, clear thinking and designs that serve both the client and the end user.
About me:I am a registered Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) with ECSA and have spent my career working across water, roads and general civil engineering projects in South Africa and the region. Today, I work independently, providing specialist freelance consulting services across the full project life cycle — from planning and design through to construction support and close-out.
Outside of engineering, I am married with two daughters and operate between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, giving me the flexibility to support projects across the region while maintaining a balanced, grounded working life.
